Every decision a judge makes can have lasting effects on the community.

It is not only about the parties involved in civil disputes or the victims and defendants in criminal cases. Every decision a judge makes affects families, friends, businesses, and the safety and well-being of the community. To be a judge is an act of service. To be a judge you need the wisdom, experience, and strength to make the hard decisions that protect our constitutional rights and ensure our safety. This is why I am running for District Court Judge, Place 6.

I have practiced law for over twenty years. I currently serve as Deputy Chief Public Defender at the Mobile County Office of the Public Defender where I supervise and train attorneys and staff. I also oversee the offices cases in four Circuit Court rooms. I have practiced civil law. I have run a small business. I also served as an Assistant District Attorney for ten years where I was assigned as a Circuit Court prosecutor. During that time, I successfully prosecuted countless violent criminals. Over the course of my legal career, I have had nearly one hundred jury trials and countless bench trials.

I have experienced the overwhelming sense of closure from the families of victims when justice was served. I have had mothers cry on my shoulder because they have lost their sons to senseless violence, and I have had mothers cry on my shoulder because their sons had taken a wrong path and were sent to prison. I have witnessed small business owners deal with the stress of almost losing everything due to frivolous lawsuits and I have seen the relief when those who have been wronged were made whole.

Mobile County is an amazing place. It is filled with people who care about the community and care about each other. I love Mobile County. It is my home; it is our home. I want to serve Mobile County by using my experience and knowledge to make the hard decisions that affect all our lives. I want to ensure that no one ever strips away our constitutional rights or the safety and prosperity of the community.

I understand the importance of faith, family, and showing respect for every person. For me it is a calling. As your District Court Judge, I will uphold the law. As your District Court Judge, I will defend the Constitution. As your District Court Judge, I will treat everyone fairly and with respect. As your District Court Judge, I will keep your safety at the heart of each decision.
